My love for magic started when I was a child
like most people with Dad pulling 10p from behind my ear. One day I saw
a magician called Faust produce a leopard, he totally amazed me because
this was all live on stage, not a T.V. in sight I thought WOW! I then watched all the
magic I could from the cool hippy style of Doug Henning to the smarmy David
Copperfield. I watched Paul Daniels religiously and tried to work out
how he did his illusions. Thankfully I have managed to meet and in some
cases work with some of my heroes.
I started as a professional Magician in 1989,
with a season lined up in a holiday camp in
Scotland
. So this year will mark my 15th anniversary of being
a professional entertainer.
During the season I was moved and promoted
twice acting as a trouble shooter at problem camps. I ended the season as
Deputy Entertainment's Manager in Hastings.
I decided to move back to the North-East and
over the years I have slowly built up a reputation for providing good solid
entertainment for whatever the occasion may need.
I have performed all over the country and
Europe
in various Pubs, Clubs, Camps and Businesses.
I received a certain amount of Fame/Notoriety a
couple of years ago when the fact that I am allergic to rabbits came out in a
local paper. I guess it must have been a quiet news week that week for within a
couple of days I had been interviewed by and appeared in most of the National
and Local press and Radio Stations, which led to TV appearances on Northern Life,
Sky News and even Richard & Judy. I have recently appeared in Full House magazine, where they released a full 2 page article about me and the allergy to my rabbit.
I am still allergic to rabbits and I still use
them in the show, because lets be honest a magician with out a rabbit? Whoever
heard anything so daft? I have a 16 year-old son Daniel, who likes to help
out at the odd show, in fact he is now a known close up magician within his own right. |
